we need to bring back anon kink memes in a big way. no one is horny enough anymore. the other night i found a fic on an old kink meme from 2009 that was so well-written and also so raunchy and foul (affectionate) it could have stripped paint off my car. there is something about truly unapologetic filth that can be transcendent and tender and marrow deep and maybe if we all leaned into being anonymous depraved little weirdos again we’d learn how to have more fun.
Okay but honestly with the death of forums and blogs and Yahoo Answers. And the rise of discord. Reddit is the last refuge to get any kind of information about anything whatsoever.
Imagine being the only person alive who can say this
buzz aldrin and neil armstrong liked to do a thing where they’d tell unfunny jokes at parties about being on the moon and when people were confused they’d go “guess you had to have been there”
[ID: tweet from Linn LeBlanc reads: Where were you 49 years [ago] today when @/TheRealBuzz and Neil Armstrong made those historic first steps onto the Moon. Attached is a color photo of an astronaut on the moon. Buzz Aldrin quote tweets it and replies: I was on the Moon! #Apollo11 /]
i love how castles are like, a fairytale staple and princesses live in them now. those were military installations do you think in 4000 years the irradiated mice that inherit our world will tell stories about princesses living on aircraft carriers
u,m. dont hurt me
Maybe in 4000 years we can even live in there like a house
I don’t know enough about media outside of the States to say for certain but – having childish fantasy tales about princesses and castles makes a lot more sense in an American context, because we just… don’t… have castles? The ones we do have are usually recreations of European-style castles made for aesthetic purposes, and often used as museums. For some reason, a lot of them were constructed in the early 1900s.
America wasn’t around during the medieval age, when technology was at a point where building great walls and gatehouses and great walls and great halls and great courtyards weren’t just created for aesthetic purposes – they were homes for the lords and ladies of the land, and meant to be as defensible as possible.
I’m like… genuinely curious as to how castles are portrayed in European, North African, middle eastern and Asian media, where many countries actually have long histories of creating military fortifications, even if they are very different in appearance. If someone knows, well… I’m interested in hearing!
